Born and raised in the seaside town of Worthing, West Sussex, situated on the south coast of England I immigrated to Revelstoke, Canada in 2005. I first became interested in textiles at high school and gained a degree in weaving while training as an elementary school teacher. Throughout my teaching career I have continued to develop skills in various textile techniques.
Since immigrating to Canada I have been able to pursue my love of textiles and am currently creating works that incorporate photography on fabric, silk painting, free motion machine embroidery and felting. I also enjoy creating art using mixed media. I am passionate about working with colour, pattern and texture and particularly enjoy interpreting the magnificent landscapes surrounding my home.
I regularly exhibit my work at the Revelstoke Art Gallery and had my first solo exhibition Songs of My Heart there in 2014. I am a founding member of Art First Gallery. I regularly teach classes to children and adults and get great satisfaction from sharing my expertise.
